Vision & Team

DMOA is not attached to a particular style, but goes for a specific approach. The conditions define the method. The context determines the design. Architecture does not stand alone, but must be embedded in its environment and landscape. It should bring added value to the space around. Every project benefits from a unique solution.

The diversity of our projects strongly reflects the diversity of our clients. They all have their own preferences, their own desires, their own taste. DMOA not only fulfills these wishes, but strives to go beyond. We aim high. In interaction with our clients, DMOA seeks for the absolute best solution. The result is always a surprise.

DMOA uses all possible architectural elements to achieve the proper atmosphere for a certain room, building, or landscape. Proportions, natural light, artificial or candle light, rough or smooth materials, matt or shiny, hard or soft… the tactile, acoustic and even olfactory dimension… everything is united in one harmonious whole.

We love an artisanal approach, we learn from traditional techniques and materials, and draw inspiration from our rich architectural history. At the same time, we embrace novelty. As engineers, we are keen to fully exploit the technical possibilities that are being developed today. This fusion always results in something new.

When no ready-made solutions are available, we develop them ourselves. Innovation has become our second nature. Therefore we rely on talented people from different disciplines. We bring them together, coordinate collaboration, and motivate all parties to create something exceptional. This approach has led to multiple publications and awards.

At DMOA, we believe that each and every one, in all circumstances, has the right to live in a safe and agreeable environment. We want to use our specific expertise to enrich society, to make our cities and towns nicer places to live in and to give our spare nature more breathing space. The first projects resulting from this social engagement are a fact. We developed the maggie shelter: an innovative solution which has the potential to substantively ameliorate the living conditions of displaced persons and refugees worldwide. Many more projects are in the pipeline.
